"Early reports of nubis sightings originated in various parts of North Central Florida, USA in early March 2010 with the largest gathering sighted in Cervia, Italy in late April. At that time, a few of the smallest species, commonly named "fluffs" or "piccole nubi" from the Italian meaning "small clouds" were domesticated. Then, little was seen or hear again until late 2010 when the first of the Nubis ephemerus was sighted. These, like the other piccole nubi are still properly skeletonless, but have a more organized, denser, more fiberous structure than those sighted earlier. Over a number of months a few of these moth-like specimens were gathers and preliminary classification attempted.During work with the Nubis ephemerus, another interesting discovery occured: Nubis specimens of various types were occasionally accompanied by small vertebrae-like structures being near or sometimes attached to individuals by long hair-like cords.
