Powerlines consists of a series of over one hundred polaroids taken of the lines found above us. The series began as meditations on the linear elements around me and took shape as minimalist portraits of modern civilization. These threads present themselves everywhere we've settled. Here and there they cross and caress in momentary echoes of warp and weft as they streak out across the landscape carrying messages and power interrupted only briefly by the branches of errant trees. These thin delicate lines catch us in a web of our civilized space as visual reminders of the ways we are intangibly connected.
